" Only one member of the Dark Council remained after the chaos: Darth Acina. In a power vacuum, Darth Acina assumed leadership of the Empire and declared herself Empress of the Sith, declaring loyalty to Emperor Arcann of the Eternal Empire, who publicly acknowledged her claim. Darth Acina was the first to recognize that the Sith were outmatched and the only one of the Dark Council to remain by the time Zakuul–Imperial treaty was negotiated by the Minister of Logistics. Within a year, Dromund Kaas was blockaded and most of the Dark Council members either died or disappeared during the chaos. In 3636 BBY the Eternal Empire of Zakuul revealed itself to the larger galaxy and launched the Eternal Empire conquest on both the Empire and the Republic. Eventually succeeding in recovering the last of the Seeds on Ilum, the Imperial returned them to Acina, who planned to hide them on Ziost. Her position imperiled, Acina was quick to summon help from an Imperial individual to assist in locating and recovering the seeds. However, one of her apprentices had secretly sworn loyalty to the Dread Masters, which allowed their follower Tagriss to organize a Raid on the Arcanum and escape with many dangerous artifacts such as the Darkstaff and the Seeds of Rage. During that time her position on the Dark Council was strong, as she controlled all access to Arcanum, requiring others Councillors to impress her. After the death of Darth Karrid at Duro in 3640 BBY, Acina was chosen by the Emperor's Hand to be the new head of the Sphere of Technology and to watch over a warehouse of powerful technology known as the Arcanum. She eventually obtained the title of Dark Lord of the Sith.

I'm Darth Acina of the Dark Council." ―Darth Acina Īcina after being appointed to the Dark CouncilĪcina spent her early Sith training in the Sith Academy on Korriban, where as some of her earliest trials as the Sith apprentice she was required to kill local vermin in the tombs located in the Valley of the Dark Lords. It's almost better that she rose from relatively nothing and became emperor through cunning and laying low (against zakuul) rather then the traditional route." A recently-elevated peer among our elite. So yeah, all this is assuming acina will actually work with you, but I've seen nothing that suggests she isn't actually trying all she can to get the empire to win. But with an actual imperial intelligence reestablished, one that should have much more independence then it ever did under Jadus and others, the empire could start to improve in even better ways. During onslaught, the sith (especially the one on onderon) were much more focused on actually helping the empire's short and long term goals. (at least on the surface, but even that is miles ahead of where it started). The empire at least seems to be going on much better directions regarding slavery, alien rights, etc. She stood by you in KOTEE, when no one else really did. If it was any sith besides Marr, I'd agree and be skeptical. See at least for my Loyalist agent I felt differently. It's not that the Empire isn't my Warrior's home(s). I've heard similar murmurings especially from the Imperial Agents. which isn't really a great deal for an independent Sith.

You basically sign away the Alliance to her (including letting her take senior members to be her new Hand), and in exchange, become her personal executioner again. It really seems like only very DS players and maybe Smugglers wouldn't go for that.īut with the Empire, I feel like Acina tries to bait you in with the promise of old power and titles, at the cost of effectively accepting her dominion (something Malgus actively warns the player about on Ossus). You're still in command, it's still your Alliance, but you're able to get back in with the Republic, crucially the Jedi and Military. On the Republic side, I think the choice is a lot simpler, because it's effectively bringing the Alliance under the flag of the Republic, an equal member like everyone else. I rejoined on my Marauder, but when I bring my Jugg in, I will stay independent.
